This weekend, the New York Post reported that two McAllen, Texas cops— Edelmiro Garza, 45, and Ismael Chavez, 39 were shot dead in an ambush while responding to a domestic dispute.

Gunman Audon Ignacio Camarillo, 23, initially hid behind a car when other officers arrived — shooting and killing himself before he could be arrested, the chief said.

Colleagues of the slain cops had no idea of the two officers’ deaths until they arrived and found their bodies, Rodriguez said.

“We have lost two brave public servants who sought only to keep peace in our City,” Rodriguez, visibly distraught, told The (McAllen) Monitor.

“They were doing their job. That is what they were supposed to do,” he said.

“The officers never had a chance to suspect deadly assault on them, much less death.”

Ismael Chavez’s daughter, Savannah Chavez tweeted a loving tribute to her father:

“Words cannot describe the pain I’m in, but I’m glad my dad is at peace. I’m going to miss you so much. you died doing what you loved most, you died a hero. i love you daddy, see you soon. #bluelivesmatter.”

While Savannah’s post garnered some support and sympathy, the grieving daughter was ambushed by radical liberals who took issue with her hashtag, “blue lives matter”.

Some responses included:

“Being a cop is a choice. Lmao and last time I checked, blue people don’t exist. Maybe educate yourself?” one person tweeted.

Another wrote, “Blue lives matter was literally created in response to and to undermine black lives matter. There’s no other connotation unfortunately.”

A third person, who identified herself as a high school student, added, “I am so sorry for your loss but you didn’t have to use a racist hashtag.”

The foundation of America is rooted in law and order, and the “Defund the Police” movement and all of those who espouse hatred at the very men and women who protect them at all costs threaten the safety of our American communities.

Worst of all, the radical left is propagating this movement and encouraging anarchists to dismantle police departments and support the ensuing chaos. These are not American values. We must follow President Trump’s calls to find common ground and acknowledge these truths: “Without police, there’s chaos. Without law, there’s anarchy, and without safety, there’s catastrophe.”
