Multiple Biden staffers: Defund the police

Posted on Jul 21, 2020

Multiple staffers on Joe Biden’s presidential campaign support defunding the police.

Just last week, the Biden campaign hired a staffer who called police officers worse than “pigs” and demanded that they be defunded. At least two more Biden staffers have publicly called for defunding the police, including retweeting support for “abolishing the police.” Joe Biden has admitted himself that he would “absolutely” redirect funds away from police departments, and has called our brave men and women in blue “the enemy.”

Law enforcement officers are justifiably enraged:

“Whether you call it defunding or redirecting it means the same thing; defrauding our members of their livelihood and casting them as Public Enemy #1 is reprehensible and irresponsible,” said Jerry Flynn, President of the United Federation of Police Officers.

“Biden has not even tried to reprimand staffers for making these demeaning statements against America’s men and women in Blue,” said Bert Eyler, Vice President of the Police Officers’ Defense Coalition.

“How can Joe Biden look in the faces of grieving law enforcement families whose loved ones died in the line of duty? Never in history has a major party campaign so angrily fanned the flames of hatred against our nation’s heroes,” said Trump 2020 Senior Advisor for Law Enforcement and Labor Unions Bob Paduchik.

The National Association of Police Organizations endorsed the Obama/Biden ticket in 2008 and 2012, but have decided to support President Donald J. Trump in the 2020 election.

NAPO President Michael McHale said Trump’s support is needed “during this time of unfair and inaccurate opprobrium being directed at our members by so many.”

“We particularly value your directing the Attorney General to aggressively prosecute those who attack our officers,” McHale wrote in a letter

The police association, which represents more than 1,000 police associations and  241,000 officers, met with President Trump last week.
